Kim William Schottleutner, 71, of Denver, Colorado, passed away unexpectedly at his home on June 29, 2025. Kim was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Colonel Egon and Lorrie Schottleutner on November 9, 1953. Kim is survived by his wife of 42 years, Denise Schottleutner, his two daughters, Morgan Crane and Nicole Schottleutner, his son-in-law, Michael Crane, his grandchildren, Harper and Cooper Crane, and his siblings, Kurt, Kathy, Karen, Kris, and Kevin.
Having lived many places around the world as a child, he made it back to Denver to complete high school at George Washington High. His time at GW gave him many life-long friendships that he held close to his heart. Establishing his career in Denver led him to working in the wine and spirits industry where he met his beloved wife, Denise. The true definition of soulmates, Kim and Denise were married in 1983 and loved each other as dearly over the years as the day they met.
To know Kim was to be welcomed in, valued and cared for. Kim’s true joy in life was spending time with his family and friends. Whether that time was spent on the slopes of the Rocky Mountains, golfing, traveling the world, or just in his backyard grilling, Kim cherished it all because it was with his favorite people. Kim will always be remembered for his genuine and kind heart and spirit. He never missed an opportunity to laugh and enjoyed everything life and God gave him.
“What we have once enjoyed deeply we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us.”
— Hellen Keller
