

LaVerne Mary Edwards of Sterling, formally of Denver joined her husband, Richard W. (Dick) in heaven on January 29th, 2013. Born April 2, 1921 in Randolph, Nebraska, to Archie and Mary Steele, LaVerne attended North High School in Omaha and moved with her husband and girls, Kathi & Connie to Denver in 1946. Dick and LaVerne built one of the first houses in Westminster, where they raised their girls and new son, Rick.
Mrs. Edwards worked many years in many different roles at Komac Paint in Denver. Later, LaVerne and Dick owned and operated Joyce’s Submarine Shop in Sterling, Colorado, and then returned to Denver, where she was a volunteer for the Denver Public Library system and worked at Cherry Creek Townhomes #1 as a primary contact there for the homeowners.
LaVerne will join her brothers, Donny and Gene and sister Vaughn Da Lea in heaven, and saying “I’ll see you later” to her other two sisters, Shirley Toy and Sharon Lee, both of the Omaha area.
LaVerne is survived by her kids, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild among many other relatives.
LaVerne is pleased to now see clearly and remember all things in heaven.
