Lily Ann Derwin passed away surrounded by those she loved on June 28, 2020. Lily was a fighter through and through. Her uncanny ability to maintain a smile through the darkest of times was admired by all who knew her. She lived a life of selflessness and giving; creating a non-profit amidst her battle with pancreatic cancer, LuvFromLily. Lily believed in Love and Positivity. She lived a life committed to appreciating the present moment which is reflected in her favorite quote, “Live in Love, Not Fear.” Lily loved Aspens and believed, that like the aspen itself, we are all connected by our roots and our hearts. Lily also believed she was on a journey in line with God’s plan for her life. Through her strong faith, she always felt a deeper connection to family, friends, and even strangers. Lily chose to let God guide her life every day and by doing that she was able to truly live in love and not fear. She definitely owned her journey with the adversity of cancer by pursuing many different avenues of medicine and health. She believed that we know ourselves better than others and that every day, we can seek a method to give us a wellness advantage, no matter how big or small. Lily always enjoyed giving back to her community any way she could. Along with her non-profit, Lily’s toaster grills gave back to those in need and made sure that children could be nourished and pursue their education to the fullest. To date, LuvFromLily has delivered over 500 toaster grills to STRIVE Prep families and these sandwiches have helped ease the burden of COVID-19 induced hardship. It’s easy to say that Lily’s huge heart, big smile, and contagious positivity will be missed by all.
Lily is survived by her husband Bill, her three children, Andrew, Paige, and Kaitlin, her parents, Joe and Marie DePalma, her siblings, Anthony DePalma (Janice), Christine DePalma, and Marybeth Freeman (John), 9 nieces and nephews, and her sweet pup Jackson.
