Lisa Merle Piorkowski (Frees, Fairmont) passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2018 in Lynchburg, VA at the age of 59. She fought a courageous 19 year battle with brain cancer. Lisa was born on November 13, 1958 in Denver, CO to Donald Frees and Donna Rivera. She went to Wheat Ridge High School and later went on to continue her education at The Philadelphia Academy of Theatrical Arts, Loretto Heights College of Denver, CO, and the Los Angeles Cinema Makeup School. Lisa was a member of the Church of Christ and throughout her life she worked as a singer, dancer, actress and professional cinema makeup artist. She was also voted Miss Adams County and Miss Colorado (1984) as well as a Pony Express Broncos Cheerleader. Lisa traveled a lot and lived in several places including New York, NY; Berlin, Germany; Denver, CO; Los Angeles, CA; and Lynchburg, VA.

And on October 12, 2000 Lisa & Chris Piorkowski got married in New York, NY.
Lisa is survived by her husband, Chris Piorkowski; mother Donna Rivera; step-sister Kim Patten; friends Mireya Velazquez Rinna, Carol Beckler, Shele Williams; as well as numerous other family members and friends. She will be remembered for her caring and loving personality.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 21, 2018 from 1:00pm – 2:00pm at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary; a celebration of Lisa’s life will follow, and she will be laid to rest at Olinger Chapel Hill Cemetery. A reception for family and friends will begin after the graveside service.
