Lorraine Elizabeth (Melvie) Anderson, 92, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday May 12, 2026. She was reunited with her beloved husband, Russell. Lorraine was born on March 4, 1934, in Viking, Minnesota to Tobias and Olga (Haaseth) Melvie. She was
one of 10 children who grew up on the family farm. After attending grade school and high school, Lorraine moved to Minneapolis to attend nursing school. After completing her nursing training she moved to Colorado to begin her career.
Lorraine met Russell in Greeley, Colorado when they were both attending a young adult meeting at the Greeley Covenant Church. The two were married on December 28, 1958. They eventually moved to the Denver area where they raised their 6 children: Karen Skipp, Sherryl Klosterman, Denise Lopez, Donovan Anderson, Wanda Anderson, and Wendy Reid.
Lorraine worked as a nurse for a couple of years before she and Russell started their family. After the kids were in school, she began working with the Hallmark greeting card company. This eventually led to a long career with Walgreens Drugstores. She loved setting up the seasonal displays, managing the day-to-day upkeep of the card department, and engaging with her customers. Lorraine also enjoyed sewing, gardening, singing in the church choir, spending time with family and friends at Covenant Heights in Estes Park, Colorado, and attending numerous sporting events.
Lorraine is survived by her 6 children, 13 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
