He was born Nov. 23, 1941 in Owensboro, KY and graduated from Owensboro
Catholic High School. Lou owned Skydeck Liquors for 12 years. Together with his wife, he opened Signal Graphics Printing #7 in 1986, sold it in 2006 and chose to retire to spend more time with his grandchildren. He was a 3rd and 4th Degree member of Knights of Columbus Council 10205 and a charter member of the Chatfield Sertoma Club.
His family was the love of his life including Margie, his wife of 49 years; daughters Theresa Marie, Denver; Michele Howe, son-in-law Scott, Kearney, NE; Mary Michael Hawkins, son-in-law Nick, Littleton, CO. Grandchildren include Ralph Gnann, Jonesborough, TN; Nathan, Cori Anne, Hayden and Linden Howe , Kearney NE; Alllie Hawkins, Littleton, CO; 2 sisters, Marge Logsdon (Jim) Livermore, KY, Betty (Wayne) Hamilton, Owensboro, KY, 28 nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews. His brother Tom preceded him in death.
Lou enjoyed skiing with his family, fishing with his friends and biking with Margie. One of his favorite pastimes was watching NASCAR as well as NHRA, taking trips with his buddies to Bonneville Salt Flats for Speed Week. He was also a 48-year season ticket holder for University of Denver Pioneer Hockey and a 35-year season ticket holder for Denver Broncos football.
A Rosary will be said at 7:00 pm Wednesday April 17th at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6601 S. Colorado Blvd., Centennial, CO. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:30 am Thursday April 18th at St. Thomas More, 8035 S. Quebec St., Centennial, CO. A reception and cemetery service will follow.
