Lucia W. McCamey

Lucia was born in Wichita, Kansas to Milford and Lucia Wedel on January 3rd, 1927. She met the love of her life, John McCamey, in Washington DC and they were united in Marriage in 1953. Together, they loved to travel, dance, and were blessed with 5 lovely daughters. Throughout her life, Lucia was a devout Catholic and enjoyed playing the organ at many churches in California and Colorado. In her free time, she enjoyed taking care of her roses, especially the Peace Rose. Lucia and John settled in Erie, CO together and later moved to Greenwood Village, CO to be closer to their daughters.

She was proceeded in death by her husband John Hill McCamey; as well as her sister Margaret Joyce Cookson and husband, Charles.

Lucia is survived by her 5 daughters, Julia Muise and her husband, William; Marjorie McCamey; Helen Smith and her husband, Kevin; Lucia McCamey; Joyce Reilly and her husband, Brian; her grandchildren, Thomas Smith; Natasha McCamey; Igor McCamey; Taylor Smith; Shane Reilly; Amanda Moore; Jocelyn Schaal Reilly; Shea Reilly; her great grandchildren, Tanya McCamey; Ryan Smith; Alexis McCamey; John Anton McCamey; Andrew McCamey; Kaitlyn Smith; Jacob McCamey; and Marshall Smith; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made to Catholic Relief Services in Lucia McCamey’s name.
