

Margaret Barbara Callahan, 89 passed away on August 28, 2021, in Centennial Colorado. She was born in Swindon England to Ernest and Lillian Saunders. She grew up in Swindon with 3 brothers and 1 sister who preceded her in death.
She met Patrick Daniel Callahan in 1952 and they were married on September 4, 1954, in Swindon, England.
Margaret grew up in England during WW2. She would often recount having to carry around a gas mask, darken the windows of their home and the fear of bombs.
She left school at the age of 14 and started work. He first job was in a dry cleaners and then various department stores. She met Patrick Callahan an American in the United States Airforce during a queen’s coronation dance in 1952 and they were married in 1954.
She moved to America and had the first of two children Robert Patrick Callahan, son, born August 10, 1956, and Gary Wayne Callahan, son, born September13, 1957. Her third child Laura Ann Callahan was born on October 6, 1970, in RAF Lakenheath England.
She returned to the US and moved to Colorado in 1972. She and her husband joined St Andrew’s United Methodist Church in 1975. She volunteered as a librarian and later the supply room clerk.
In the 1980s she started working for Cherry Creek School District in the kitchen. She worked there over 15 years before she retired.
Margaret is survived by her son Gary Callahan and her daughter Laura Callahan.
