We are here to honor the life and memory of Margie Crider, a woman who lived a life of simplicity and reverence. Margie was born in Hanceville, Alabama. She was proud of her southern roots and radiated the inner strength and outward charm of a southern belle.
Margie was a cherished wife of 67 years. She married William upon his return from service in WWII. They moved to Colorado and enjoyed the natural beauty of the Rocky Mountains by camping, fishing, and water skiing with the family.
She and William built a beautiful home in Lakewood, Colorado and lived there until 2 years ago. She delighted in cooking and preserving the bountiful harvest from the garden he would grow each year. They both loved the flowers and trees that surrounded their home: peonies in spring, roses in summer, and the fruit harvested in fall.
She served her country for 30 years working for the Air Force as a civilian. She enjoyed her job and was respected by her colleagues. At her retirement ceremony, senior Air Force officers spoke of her loyalty and commitment. She had a work ethic that is seldom seen in today’s work place.
She studied the Bible throughout her life. As a young woman, she advised on the writing of sermons and bible studies in Alabama. She was devoted to her church throughout her life. She had a beautiful singing voice and loved to sing religious songs. She especially loved her new Bible from Jerusalem.
We don’t say goodbye to our loving wife and mother. She will live in our hearts always. We are grateful for her peaceful passing. Her last words to her daughter were “this has been a wonderful day”. We are blessed to have had her in our lives for 91 years. We feel her spirit in all of nature and this beautiful day we have to celebrate her life.
