Marguerite J. Wilson, 92, died on Sep 26, 2018, at Collier Hospice Center in Wheat Ridge, CO of complications from a series of falls. Marguerite was born in Kansas City, KS on Sep 14, 1926, the daughter of John F. and Jean (Nielsen) Reiter.
She graduated from Rosedale High School, where she was a drum majorette. She worked as an executive secretary and paralegal for Farmers Insurance Company in Kansas City. Marguerite traveled widely during her single days, including trips to Quebec and to Cuba under the Batista regime. On a summer vacation to Estes Park, Marguerite met the love of her life, J. Robert (Bob) Wilson. They eloped and were married in Las Vegas, NV on November 27, 1960. Soon thereafter, Marguerite and Bob moved to Hastings, NE where their son, John Ramsey, was born. They moved to Colorado in 1980. In their later years, Marguerite and Bob enjoyed traveling the world, including a memorable visit to the Holy Land, playing golf, and spending time with friends and family.
Marguerite is predeceased by her parents, her husband, and her sister, Clarelise Reiter Hill. Survivors include her son John (Mollie Mitchell) of Golden, CO; nieces Susan Larson (David) of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Joyce Brophy (George) of Leawood, KS; and her grandnieces and grandnephews.
The family wishes to thank the numerous individuals who gave such wonderful care to Marguerite in her last year, including those at Rhythms Home Care, the Suites at Holly Creek, Swedish Medical Center, and Collier Hospice Center.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, Oct 4 at 10:30 a.m. at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6601 S. Colorado Blvd, Centennial, CO 80121. A private burial will occur at Olinger Chapel Hill Cemetery, Centennial, CO.
