Born in New York City to Frank and Caterina Scordo in March of 1947, the family moved to Denver when Maria and her twin, Angela were 8 years old. A graduate from Ranum H.S., Maria attended University of Colorado Denver and would go on to become a flight attendant for Continental.
Maria was introduced to the love of her life, Clay Allen by her mother who worked with him at Colorado National Bank. The pair had two sons, Frank and Walter. Frank still resides in Denver while the youngest lives in Florida with Maria's daughter-in-law, Natalie, and granddaughter, Alexandra.
Maria lived a long life of helping others in one way or another. She spent a good time of her life assisting in the promotion of Italian-American culture in the front range and would eventually take over the position of 'Italian Vice Consul' which her mother Caterina held prior. Maria passed at the age of 73 from natural causes. It gives the family solace knowing she has joined her husband, father and twin sister in a better place. A graveside service for Maria will be held on Monday, November 9, 2020 at 2pm at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Wheat Ridge, CO.
