She took an extended European tour, then moved to Alaska with her best friend. In Alaska she met her second husband John David Holland and moved to Kansas City to be close to her family. Her only son Brad Holland was born in 1978. Marilyn loved being a mother. Brad was her pride and joy. Moved in 1982 to Littleton Colorado. Her mother and her sister soon followed her to Colorado and lived with her until their passing, and Marilyn lived in the same house until her passing in 2025. She Married Gerald Coursey in 1996. Gerald passed away in 2000. In 2012 she married Jack Givens.
Marilyn had many friends and enjoyed taking cruises and spending time in Estes Park. She was an animal lover and spent time volunteering with Every Creature Counts.
