She was born on November 25, 1938 in Scotts Bluff, NE to Henry Dittenber and Lydia Betz. She went to high school at Denver West where she met her best friend Patsy Russell. Patsy’s brother Larry spent a long time trying to win Marilyn’s heart. He finally did, and they were married on May 15, 1958.
Marilyn was known as Mom to anyone she had contact with. Our friends all called her Mom, not Mrs. Russell, but Mom. This never changed. She had so much love to give, and she gave it freely to all of her friends and family.
She worked as a bookkeeper for the majority of her career.
More than anything, she loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed cooking and baking, especially at Christmas time.
She enjoyed playing cards, playing slots in Blackhawk, relaxing as she crocheted, reading (as of late all Nora Roberts), watching movies - especially musicals and Showboat (but no Sci-Fi!), and of course, watching the Denver Broncos.
She will be missed by her husband Larry, her son Shawn, Shawn’s wife Corrie, and especially her daughter Jennifer, and grandson Clayton and his wife Symonne.
She is preceded in death by her parents Henry and Lydia, her sister Glenda and her three sons Timothy, Bryan and David.
