

Maryon Irene Wallraff was born to Albert John and Jennie Irene (Caffee) Wallraff on July 23, 1922 in Denver, CO. She graduated from South High School June 7, 1940. She met Armin George Remke of Huntley, Nebraska while singing in the choir at Evanston Evangelical United Brethren Church and were married March 9, 1941 and settled on Gilpin Street in south Denver. They moved to Amarillo, Texas for 20 years before returning to Colorado in 1969.
Maryon was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Every community she was in, Maryon was an active member of her church, teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir, serving as Director Of Christian Education, President of the Presbyterian Women's Association and as an Elder of the church. She was instrumental in the founding of The Evangelical Presbyterian Church which now boasts churches throughout the United States, including her home church, Faith Presbyterian of Aurora, Colorado. Maryon has always been known for her love, generosity, service to others, and warm hospitality. Maryon is survived by her husband of 69 years, Armin George Remke, her son Richard Remke and his wife Patricia of Little Rock, Arkansas; her daughter Marcia Graves and her husband David of Houston, Texas; her daughter Cheryl Nelson and her husband Larry of St. Louis, Missouri; and her son David Remke and his wife Marty of Englewood, Colorado; nine grandchildren: Lynne (Tom) Schott, Shannon (Darren) Copeland; Julie Graves, Jason (Stephanie) Graves; Brett, Brady, and Kristin Nelson; Sarah and Michael Remke. Her great-grandchildren are Sophie, Rawley and Abigail Schott; Zach and Alex Graves; and Ava and Chloe Copeland.
