She was the second born child of ten. Three brothers, Edwin, Leonard and Richard Steinke. Six Sisters, Margaret Krems, Irene Abts, Doris Steinke, Marlene Sharp, Marcine Steward and Loretta Smith.
Matilda was married to Howard Courtright on Feb. 22, 1942 in Tacoma, Washinton. Them moved to Julesburg, Colorado in 1945. Their son Darrel was born Aug. 30, 1946 and daughter Janet was born Jan. 18, 1949.
Matilda was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Emma; her husband, Howard; son, Darrel; sister, Doris and brother, Leonard.
She is survived by her daughter, Janet and her husband Mike Spencer; Grandsons, Tim and his wife Bonni Spencer and Tracey and his wife Pam Spencer; granddaughters Trish and her husband Brian Waage, Tara and her husband Jim Kihle; great grandchildren Riley and Lane Spencer, Shelby and Jessica Spencer, Daniel, Brandon, Shawn and Nathan Waage, Brita and Alexa Kihle; sister, Margaret Krems, Irene Abts, Marlene Sharp, Marcine Steard and Loretta Smith and brothers, Edwin and Richard Steinke.
