Although Ryan & I not be able to attend the memorial service, We appreciate Matt's presence in our lives and will remember him fondly always. Ryan has expressed his thoughts about all the good times he had at sleepovers with Sean at Matt's house. He enjoyed his cooking and playing on the property with Sean. My thoughts are that Matt was a devoted father and the love he has for Sean is obvious I'm sure to anyone who knew him. We shared the belief that our kids need to be kept active & spending time outdoors. Matt knows that I will continue to do this when the boys are together. We will miss his physical presence as I know will Sean & his family, but I believe that there is no pain in the afterlife & he is fully restored. And that there is only pure love & light where he is and his love & connection lives on within his loved ones.

I remember hiring Matthew at Ascent Solar and knew right away he was going to give everything to learn the job. He was honest about not knowing anything about the process but he told me that I would not be disappointed. After almost a decade of working with Matthew, he went above and beyond his job. We became best friends who shared the good and bad times together. I will miss his straight face humor, his commitment, and his friendship above all. I will always have you in my thoughts and I know you are still working hard up there!

Such a gentle soul, I knew him, through the chamber & my PT job as reporter for the local paper. Matt embodied the best of the humane race, a man that did everything he could, just to make the world a better place. The Bailey community lost a true champion but know this Matt, you did make the world better, by your presence, by your joy & by your commitment. Thank you for being apart of my life for the short time I knew you.

I met Matt through his son Sean’s mother and ex in laws. I instantly knew that he had a huge heart and one of the kindest souls I’ve ever known. I’m so deeply saddened that this world has to go on without you, but look forward to hugging you again someday. ✌️ My friend

Matt was such a great guy and a good older brother and a quiet leader. I'm so glad for the time I was able to spend with him and wish there had been more in later years. Miss you Matt.
