

Michael D. Tealer was born Nov. 6, 1953 to Kline Tealer Jr. and Jewell Tealer in San Antonio, Texas. Since his parents were in the military, he traveled across the globe, learning and appreciating different cultures. He graduated from Lakenheath High School in Brandon, UK in
1972.
Michael united in holy matrimony with Vana J. Tealer on Dec. 31, 1991 in Denver, CO. In addition to his son Jamil Tealer, this union brought Nicholas Tealer into this world. Michael and Vana remained married for 29 years.
Upon graduating high school, Michael travelled the United States selling magazines from door to door. Once he completed his tour, Michael attended the University of Colorado at Boulder. Afterwards, Michael settled in Denver, CO as a firefighter, and continued to move up the ranks
throughout his professional career. He retired from the DFD in 2015 with 39 years of service.
Michael Tealer loved to play games such as Bid Whist, Dominos, and Backgammon. He LOVED music, especially smooth jazz and Latin music. He played soccer and was an avid golfer. Michael loved to travel. Some of those trips included Israel, Canada, Barbados, and other
interesting places.
Michael Tealer was a faithful and dedicated member of Word of Life Christian Center for 20 years, under the leadership of his beloved pastors, Dr. Tim Bagwell and Mrs. Gayla Bagwell. He served on the praise and worship team, playing percussion. He was a firm believer in assisting
others, even if it’s something small. His heart will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kilne Tealer Jr. and Jewell Tealer and sister, Rhonda W. Tealer.
He leaves to continue his legacy his wife, Vana Tealer; his two sons, Jamil Tealer and Nicholas Tealer; his brothers, Gregory Tealer and Jerry Tealer; his nephew, Harrington Tealer; his grandchildren (Abraham and Judah), a host of relatives and friends, and his beloved church
family.
