Mike, “Jonesy” to many, was born in Billings, Montana to parents Lavern and Sherrie Wilson. His family moved to the Denver, CO area shortly thereafter, where he grew up in the Harvey Park area and attended Lincoln High School. Mike joined his father in the drywall industry and established a long and proud career in Colorado construction. He met his wife, Sharon Marie Clark, in 1987 and they married in 1989. The family was blessed with three children – sons Michael “Adam”, Brandon, and daughter Savannah – his greatest accomplishments, as he would say.
Mike was an avid angler and spent many an afternoon at the “honey hole” with the kids, days on a lake with his friends, or the many fishing trips taken all over north America and Canada. A motor sports fanatic, Mike spent several years involved in the local racing scene and gave fans many a thrill “shooting the X” in his beloved #6 Nova. He enjoyed anything that involved his children and was a constant figure in supporting whatever they were participating in. Embodied with a great sense of humor and a mischievous grin, he was always the life of the party. He spent his last day celebrating the life of his father Vern in the company of his mother, brother, wife, children, extended family, and closest friends. God certainly works in mysterious ways.
Mike is survived by wife Sharon, son (Michael) Adam and wife Anna, son Brandon, daughter Savannah, his mother Sherrie, brother Marcus, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father Lavern.
The family would like to acknowledge ICI Construction, Architectural Concepts LLC, the many, many, doctors, nurses, and care providers of University of Colorado Health Systems, Kaiser Permanente, and The Denver Hospice for all the support and care you provided to Mike and our family.
