Miles Melvin Robison

​Miles Melvin Robison was born November 10, 1931, on a farm north of Watonga, OK and died August 29, 2026, in Littleton, CO. Melvin was the son of Elmer Marion Robison and Rachel Goldie (Byers) Robison. Melvin grew up on the farm with his two older brothers, Elmer Gene Robison and Charles Wendell Robison. Melvin attended Pleasant Hill, a one room school, located 1 ½ miles from the farmhouse through the 4th grade when it closed. He then rode a school bus to Southard, OK and graduated from Southard High School in 1949. Melvin attended Southwestern State University at Weatherford, OK; Union College in Lincoln, NE and graduated with a BS degree in Business from the University of Colorado. Melvin met Martha Ann Reddy, the love of his life, at Union College and they were married on June 27, 1954, in Wichita, KS. To this union three daughters were born, Brenda Kay, Dian Lynn and Karen Sue. They were married for 71 years until Marty’s death on August 1, 2025. The family continued to grow with the addition of 3 dear sons-in-law, Tim Marcotte, Michel Jay Larrew and Dan Sanchez as well as 4 beloved grandchildren: Katelyn Crawford (Connor), Moriah McIlany (Andrew), Makayla Madsen (Cody) and Nathaniel Sanchez. He was blessed to know Adeline and Alethea McIlhany, great-grandchildren. In June 1954, Melvin was employed by Taylor Oil Company of Denver, CO starting his career in the Oil and Gas Business. He worked for various oil and gas companies holding the positions of Controller, Chief Financial Officer and Vice-President of Finance, except for the 3 years when he was a Controller at Gates Rubber Company in Denver, CO. Melvin was a strong believer in Christian education with all 3 of his daughters obtaining a Christian education at Mile High Elementary, Mile High Academy and graduating from Union College. Melvin was a member of Denver South Seventh-Day Adventist Church and was active in various duties of the church. Melvin enjoyed his younger years when he worked on the farm and continued to help with harvest when he could. Training and being around horses brought him back to his roots in Oklahoma, which was close to his heart. Being outdoors working whether it was hoeing weeds or any number of projects was a joy to him. On Sunday mornings, he was known for his egg gravy which nobody could replicate. He loved his family and enjoyed the times when family got together and played games. He traveled with Marty to all the U’S capitals except Alaska and Hawaii. He loved camping and taking drives in the mountains, especially when the aspen changed in the fall. He encouraged his daughters to be independent by teaching them to change the oil in their cars, changing tires and drive a stick shift as well as teaching them to play basketball. He was always interested in what each of his daughter’s family were doing and supported them in their endeavors. He loved each one of the grandkids and they have many memories of watching Bronco football, playing games or just sitting around the table talking and laughing. Melvin lived a life rooted in faith, family, hard work, and simple joys. He was happiest when surrounded by the people he loved, whether working together, playing a game around the table, or simply sharing time with one another. His family will remember his steady presence, his quiet encouragement, his love for Marty, and the example he set through a life well lived. They look forward with faith to the day when they will all be together again.
