Milton Arnold Horstman was born in rural South Dakota on July 1, 1933 and passed away at age 87 on January 11, 2021 in Denver, Colorado.
Milton was born to Rudolph and Thelma (Harrison) Horstman who preceed him in passing. He was the middle child between older brothers Merlyn and Harold, and younger sisters Velva and Verla.
Milton was a proud graduate of Peever High School class of 1951. After graduating he worked for the railroad until he was drafted. He served in the US Army beginning in 1953, as a driver and mechanic. Milton took pride in his service as a Korean war veteran.
After the war, Milton moved to Pueblo, CO for college, where he met Verna Lee Wallace. They were married from 1957 until her death in 2018. They made their home in Denver, CO, where Milton worked as a mechanic and developed his life-long passion of restoring old cars. His car collection was infamous, and the children in his family will always remember riding in the rumble seat of his 1939 Plymouth.
Milton is preceded in passing by his parents, his first wife Verna Lee, his brothers and sisters-in-law Harold (Maxine) Horstman and Merlyn (Sheila) Horstman, and brother-in-law Herb Plant. Milton is survived by his wife Rhonda Porter, younger sisters Velva Plant and Verla (Ron) Noakes. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, who will all miss his ornery nature and good natured teasing.
