Naomi Jean (Holmes) Moothart died peacefully on February 15, 2019. She leaves her beloved husband of 64 years, David Moothart, son Michael Moothart, and sister Shirley Skipton of Onalaska, WI. Preceded in death by her daughter Linda Moothart and sister Arlene Chapman.
Naomi was born on April 15, 1935 in Newton, IA, to her parents Charles and Marie Holmes. The youngest of 3 daughters. Naomi was a Homemaker/Pianist/Executive Secretary. She was actively involved in her community and church, St James United Methodist Church, Central City, CO. A piano teacher for over 30 years, Church Organist, Accompanist for the Littleton Town Players, involved in the Family’s Sports Car Racing, and a Genealogist.
Beginning college at Simpson University in Iowa, Naomi married her high school sweetheart and moved to Michigan after David graduated from Iowa State University. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Music, from Oakland University in Michigan.
Naomi was very active in the Sports Car Club of America with her husband Dave. She held offices of Treasurer and Assistant Regional Executive for the Detroit Region SCCA, and was instrumental in the Moothart Racing Associate’s Club Racing in the Mid-West. She also competed in rallies and ice races as a driver.
