Known as “Diny” in her younger years, Dianne lived a vibrant full life. Though she called many places home over the years, Colorado held her heart. She worked for many years as a waitress, always offering a warm smile and a quick wit, but the achievement that brought her the most joy was earning her cosmetology license. This is where her gifts truly shined as she was able to reach and relate to the younger generation in ways that brought about serious life changes. She later became an exceptional teacher of that same craft.
She had a sharp sense of humor, a resilient spirit, and a love of storytelling. Dianne never passed up a good gossip magazine until her eyesight made reading difficult. She cherished car rides, the arrival of spring flowers, and summertime visits from out-of-state families.
She married her high school sweetheart, Howard Lang, when they were both just 17 and had 3 children. Later, in her marriage to Frank Comstock, she had a second son. Besides her children, her longest, and most loving relationship was her marriage to Alfred Winkler, with whom she shared over 15 years until his passing.
Dianne is survived by her loving children and their families: Deborah Grenier (Paul), Corena Maestas (Ronnie, Jimmy), Jeffrey Lang (Heather) and Curtis Comstock (Cheryl). She was the proud grandmother of Deleena, Nicolette, Nathaniel, Brandon, Alexander, Hunter, Jeffrey Bryce, Jake, Jordyn, Nathan and Elijah.. she was great-grandmother to Cody, Aubrey, Elena, and Avanaleah which brought her exceptional joy in her later years.
A memorial service to honor Dianne’s life will be held on, June 19, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Olinger Chapel Hill Cemetery, 6601 S. Colorado Blvd, Centennial, CO 80121.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family's GoFundMe to help with expenses.
