Norma Lee Mazza, age 88, passed away peacefully in the early hours on Saturday, January 4, 2025, after a two year battle with stage 4 lung cancer. Norma was born on January 31, 1936 and raised in Dearborn, MO and is preceded in death by her parents Charles Alpha Keesaman and Ruth Smith Keesaman as well as her two siblings William Keesaman and Mary Lou Wright. After graduating high school, Norma moved to Kansas City where she worked as a teller for Traders National Bank and met the love of her life, Joseph Angelo Mazza. They married in September of 1958 and raised a son and two daughters. Norma eventually left the bank and became a homemaker. She supported Joe in his 25 year career with the Kansas City Chiefs and even worked side by side with him in the last few years in the ticket office. They were able to travel with the team and experience the Chiefs first Super Bowl win in New Orleans. Upon Joe’s retirement from the Chiefs, they retired in Venice Florida. They became parishioners at Our Lady of Lourdes and Norma was able to share her beautiful voice, faith and love for music by joining the choir. Sadly, Joe passed away in 2008 but Norma’s faith in the Lord never wavered. She moved to Highlands Ranch, CO in 2011 to live with her daughter Jody and family. She continued sharing her love of music by singing in the choir at St Frances Cabrini church in Littleton, CO. Norma was a woman of great faith and knew God had a plan for her. She shared her faithfulness with her children, seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. She loved spending time with all of her family, as family was the most important part of her life. She is survived by her son Joseph Michael Mazza and his wife Idy, her daughter Jody and her husband Mike Horn and her daughter Indy and her husband Rob Thornhill. We would like to thank all the healthcare professionals at Cherrelyn Healthcare Center of Littleton and the Bristol Hospice Nurses for their compassionate care, showered upon her in her final weeks and months. We also extend our sincere appreciation for the genuine and respectful care of Visiting Angels and UC Health Oncology during her challenges with cancer. Norma battled MS most of her adult life and she won in the end. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society at www.nationalmssociety.org.
