

Husband, father, grandfather, great- grandfather Norman Murrell Prince, age 86, passed away in Parker, Co on July 2, 2025. He was born on July 16, 1938 in Wendall, Idaho to Cleament Prince and Venice Pugmire Prince. He grew up in Hagerman, Idaho. The family lived on a 33-acre farm. He had many chores on the farm including milking cows, lambing sheep, feeding the lambs with a bottle, and feeding chickens and pigs. He played baseball, basketball, and football in High School. Baseball was his first love; he played first base. He played semi pro baseball after graduating High School
He attended Rick’s College in Rexburg, Idaho for a year but decided it was too cold there and finished school at Idaho State in Pocatello, Idaho with a degree in finance. While at Idaho State, he met his sweetheart, Sharon Parsons. They dated for over a year and were married September 2, 1961 in Riverside, Idaho by his Grandfather Emerson Pugmire. They were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on December 9th, 1966.
He started working for JC Penney in November of 1959 in the stockroom. He worked many hours so in February of 1960 they moved him to be a trainee so they didn’t have to pay him overtime. He trained in the boys dept. He was then promoted to be the department manager over boys and girls. In June 1967 he was transferred to Denver, Co as a group manager at Villa Italia. In May of 1969 he was promoted to Kansas City., Missouri. In October 1973 he was promoted to Oklahoma City, Ok as a General Merchandise Manager in the brand new store at Crossroads Mall. In 1979, he was promoted to Store manager in Enid, OK. In 1980 he was promoted to the Regional Office in Dallas, TX. In 1984 he was transferred to Denver, Co to be the store manager at Villa Italia, where he retired in 1997.
He was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served in many capacities including YM Presidency, Sunday School President, Seminary Teacher, Finance and Ward Clerk, and Preparedness. He served his community in the Rotary Club, Government Relations representing Colorado in Washington D.C., and as a Precinct Judge in Littleton.
He is survived by his beloved wife and companion Sharon Prince: daughter Michele (John) Salisbury of Newcastle, OK, son Jared (Danielle) Prince of Highlands Ranch, CO. Six Grandchildren, Brandon (Juli), Jeremy, and Brittany Salisbury, Morgan, Jakobi, and Ryder Prince and two Great-Grandchildren, Kaden and Addison Salisbury. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and brother Gerald.
