

Norton Moore Rainey Jr. was born on January 19, 1948, to Alice (David) Rainey and Norton Moore Rainey Sr. in Houston, Texas, and went to be with his Lord Jesus on November 10, 2023, after a prolonged battle with Alzheimer's. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother David. Norton is survived by his wife, Sharon (Suess) Rainey, his two children, Chantal Wienecke, and Norton Rainey III; son-in-law, Nat Wienecke, daughter-in-law, Kara Rainey; four grandchildren: Kendall Wienecke, Norton (Jack) Rainey IV, Ethan Rainey, Grace Rainey, his sister, Jerry Ann Putt and her husband Bill.
Norton graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Arts in Business and was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. He embarked on a distinguished career spanning over three decades with the Boy Scouts of America, concluding his professional career as a consultant to numerous charitable organizations in the Denver community.
Norton was widely respected as a premiere fundraiser, renowned for his ability to gather the most prominent leaders in Colorado in support of noble causes.
Norton was well-known among community leaders for his commitment to investing in others. He led Bible studies at local coffee shops and shared his heartfelt devotionals. Norton was a regular attendee, elder, teacher, and board member at Abundant Grace Fellowship.
Norton was an avid golfer and a student of Harvey Penick. He also had a deep passion for fly fishing and volunteering for Healing Waters.
Norton Moore Rainey Jr. leaves behind a legacy of faith, family, philanthropy, and friendship that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will continue inspiring and uplifting, as he did throughout his remarkable life.
Norton's funeral will be held on Monday, November 27 at 1:30 at the Olinger Cemetery Chapel Hill, 6601 S Colorado Boulevard, Centennial, CO 80121.
