Pauline Virginia Daniels, regrettably passed away on November 25, 2020 in Lakewood, CO. She was born on December 25, 1927 to Vera and George Hoschouer in Haxtun, CO. She was the oldest of 7 children. She had 4 sisters and 2 brothers. After her junior year of high school, she stopped going to school for a year to take care of her siblings due to her father’s untimely death. She went back and finished her Senior year and graduated in 1946. This was a great accomplishment and very dear to her as many of her family did not think she would go back to finish. In doing so one of her doubters Aunt Maple gave her the watch she had promised to her upon completion.
She married Eurby Lee Ketterman on August 17, 1946. To this union there were 3 children born, Linda (James) Craig; Betty Laine; and Bobby Ketterman. Pauline had 7 grandchildren, 13 Great Grand Children, and 8 Great-Great Grandchildren. They divorced May 9, 1955. She is survived by her sister Doris Hawkins; daughters Linda Craig and Betty Laine; all grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
She married Tommy Edward Daniels on July 12, 1958. From an early age she was a hard worker. She started her working career in 1945, she worked in various typist positions until 1960. In 1960 she started working at Martin Marietta where she worked for 30 years working her way up in the company from a group leader to having many administrative positions ending with a position of Specialist of Personnel and Training. After she retired, she continued to work at different insurance companies until the age of 76.
She enjoyed reading, knitting, cross stitch and going to the casinos. Pauline enjoyed traveling, she traveled to the many different areas that her daughter Linda’s family was stationed at due to Linda’s husband being in the Air Force. Due to the casino’s being a favorite they had taken a few trips to Las Vegas, one of which included going to a Nascar Race. She enjoyed a couple of cruises over the years as well. Her favorite trip was the trip she took with family to Hawaii in 2017. That year was her 90th, Linda’s 70th, and her grandson Tommy’s 40th. She had always wanted to go and experience Hawaii and was excited to be able to enjoy it with so many family members and to see things such as Pineapple plantations and Pearl Harbor. This was somewhere that she and her husband Tommy had wanted to go due to Tommy having been in the Navy.
She loved her family and had special and deep connections with her friends, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She would leave a can of M&M’s that she would refill in a certain place on the counter. Whenever the kids would come over to her house, they knew that Grandma would always have it sitting there and full of their favorite candy. However, everyone knew they were her favorite and she would sneak them whenever she could even as late as midnight when she would get up craving a snack.
Pauline was proceeded in death by her youngest son Bobby Ketterman on July 24th, 1999; her husband Tommy Edward Daniels on April 27, 2014, both of her parents and 5 of her siblings.
