We were blessed to have Peggy and John in our lives. They welcomed us to Atonement and visited us after we first attended church. That started a wonderful experience always checking on us and making us apart of church family. Peggy was always greeting us with smiles and hugs no matter what she was going through or doing. She will be missed but remembered as our angel and friend.

45 years ago I was lucky enough to have Peg welcome me into the family. Shortly thereafter, she became like a sister and one of my best friends.   
She was kind,  caring, supportive, strong, opinionated and  stubborn.  All of which I truly admired.  
Desiree and I were blessed to have had Peg in our lives.  She will be missed.

I remember her loving family gatherings.  I remember her loving her grandkids.

Her teen years were enriched by playing in a band called the Tip Top Teens.  They traveled to veteran’s hospitals, nursing homes, and teen dances at various venues.
Peggy vacationed in California with relatives and loved going on the condemned roller coaster repeatedly.  She never found a roller coaster she wouldn’t ride.  She enjoyed her cousins and aunts and uncles. 
During WW2 her brother was in the military and Peggy made original records of her playing the guitar to send to him overseas. Their house was a revolving door to many as her mother took in tenants during and after the war.   She was blessed with many large dinners at her house, meeting many interesting people and learning a love of people, all people.
As a young adult she loved dancing at the Trocadero Ballroom at Elitch Gardens. Treated to music by Benny Goodman, Glen Miller, and Tommy Dorsey, among others.  A love of big bands stayed with her all of her life.  
The other love of her life was her soul-mate and husband of nearly 68 years.  They always faced life as a team.  The good days and the not-so-good days.  Richer, poorer, in health, in illness, they faced it with courage and love.  
The verse that comes to mind is Matthew 25:21  “His lord said unto him, well done thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things,  I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the JOY of the Lord.”

Peggy was born and raised in Denver CO
She was cared for by her grandmother during the week until she was 8 years old, when her grandmother passed away.  Her grandmother was loved and respected and a strong influence on her for the rest of her life.  The weekends were at her parents house with her father, mother, and siblings.  The two homes were quite different and required Peggy to adjust and flex with the two environments.  She became very independent and kept busy with her own interests.  Her favorite book was Gone With the Wind, which she read 5 times and the librarian made her stop checking it out so others could read the book. 
Peggy loved school and her friends were very important to her.  She spent time at the skating rink and at friends’ houses, being very independent and responsible. She led a fun-filled childhood.  She rode the city bus and cable cars alone to music lessons, jobs, and to run errands for her parents.
Her first job was to babysit for her music teacher.  This involved watching 3 boys, one being a baby.  She also made dinner for the family and cleaned the house.  She was only 12 years old.
One of her special memories was being able to ride in a private plane and vacationing with the family she worked for.  This sparked a love of all flight and for her 80th birthday she took a hot-air balloon ride in Albuquerque with her daughter. 
Peggy graduated early from South high school and worked at a dime store and later at Montgomery Wards.  Her favorite part of this job was to work in the record department.  She listened to and sold records as well as some instruments.  Being manager of the department, she was in charge of ordering and inventory.  Musicians would bring in their music to be promoted, and she grew in knowledge of the music of the times.
Peggy’s instrument was the steel guitar.  She also liked to sing in the choir at school.  Love of music has been passed down to her generations.
