Phyllis Boggs was born Phyllis Jeanette Drown on September 22, 1934. Her parents were Leslie Drown and Irene Charlotte Brick. She was born in Eagle Rock, CA. She had one older sister Carol and a younger brother, Les. She graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School in 1952 and then married Robert Emery. She had three daughters, Kathy, Sherry and Holly. Phyllis worked as an assistant teacher for many years and then became a billing clerk for a dental office then for Utica Insurance. Phyllis was very involved in her church and her daughters' lives. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and retired early in 1994. She survived her first battle with breast cancer in 1990 and a battle with a cancerous tumor on her colon in 2007. In 2010 she moved to Texas with her daughter Holly and family. She moved again in 2011 to Colorado with Holly and family and fell in love with the beauty that surrounded her. Unfortunately, it was not long before she had to fight breast cancer again and then congestive heart failure. Through it all, she fought with a smile on her face and a positive outlook and gained a second family in her exceptional doctors. Her long fight with her health came to an end on July 1, 2014 at Littleton Adventist Hospital. Phyllis is survived by her three daughters, four granddaughters and one great-granddaughter. Phyllis will be greatly missed by anyone that came in contact with her.
Arrangements under the direction of Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary & Cemetery, Centennial, Colorado.
