

Rebecca faced life with quiet strength, and for **12 years she bravely battled cancer**. She fought with determination, grace, and resilience, but in the end, the illness finally won. Even through the hardest moments, she continued to smile, laugh, and show love to those around her.
Born with a gentle spirit and a warm smile, Rebecca had a way of making everyone feel welcome. She was funny, easy to get along with, and always willing to help. Even in quiet moments, she drew people to her—her kindness spoke louder than words ever could.
Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents, **Joe and Oprah Martinz**, who shaped the foundation of her loving and generous spirit.
She is survived by her children, **Dorothy Castro** and **Larry R. Castro**; and her sisters **Kathy Perez**, **Phyliss Valdez**, **Donna Herrera**, **Deby Cox**, and **Sharon Aguero**.
She leaves behind her grandchildren, each of whom she loved deeply:

**Hope Castro**.
She is also survived by her great?grandchildren **Jamison Castro**, **Corey Castro**, **Travis Castro**, **Eliana Castro**, **Brielle Cordova**, and **Bryson Cordova**. Her family was her greatest joy, and she cherished every moment with them.
Rebecca spent much of her career working in aerospace, a field she adored. She loved putting things together and often said she wished she had become an engineer. She was also incredibly proud of her accomplishments in weightlifting, achieving **4th in the nation**, a testament to her determination, discipline, and quiet strength.
Her creativity flowed into every part of her life—sewing, needlepoint, crochet, drawing—she could make something beautiful out of anything. She was always smiling, always laughing, and always finding ways to brighten the world around her.
Quiet but magnetic, gentle but strong, Rebecca leaves behind a legacy of love, creativity, and kindness. She will be remembered for her open heart, her steady presence, and the way she made life feel a little lighter for everyone who knew her.
Rebecca will be laid to rest at **Fort Logan Cemetery**, beside her husband Larry. Per her wishes, **there will be no formal services**.
