Robert Vernon Blair

Bob was born on March 22, 1938, in Burnett County, Wisconsin, to Ben and Mabel Blair. Raised alongside four brothers and two sisters, he was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Richard, Joseph, and Donald, and his sister Merlin Hoffer. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Charlotte Tidwell Blair, as well as his brother Louis (Audrey), his sister Joy Watson, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.

An abiding love of family and a deep faith found a prominent place in Bob early life and guided his path throughout life. His family’s foundation of togetherness, shared music and song ignited the light that never failed to sparkle in Bob’s eyes. His songs, jokes and limericks were abundant gifts always available and joyfully shared.

Bob married Bonnie Cachan in Belle Fourche, South Dakota, in 1958. They settled in Thornton, CO, where they raised four children: Laura (Ed) Fuller, Robert Jr. (Julia), Jeanne (David) Jandt, and Timothy (Dechon). His grandchildren and great-grandchildren continue to carry forward his heritage. In 1995, Bob married Charlotte Tidwell in Englewood, CO, beginning a new chapter that added the roles of bonus-dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa to Shanon (William) Blankenship, Cinda (Andy) Cunningham, and Lynette Tidwell (Pam Jones).

Throughout his career, Bob worked for Miller’s Bakery, Gardner-Denver, Sundstrand, and Martin Marietta. In retirement, he stayed busy with Blair’s Repairs and renovating houses. An avid international traveler and runner, Bob famously completed the Colfax Marathon at age 70, winning his age group.

Bob was levity personified; he led with laughter, followed with wit and taught with a rare style of compassion that allowed others to feel seen and appreciated. He made the world lighter from his first till his last.

Funeral services will be held on May 15, 2026, at Amazing Grace Church 3325 Federal Blvd., Englewood, CO. There will be a visitation at the church at 10:00, followed by the service at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations for the Colorado Alzheimer's Association.
