Robert (Bob) Blair entered eternal peace on April 28, 2026 at the age of 88. He was residing in Colorado Springs where he was receiving Memory Care. If you knew Bob, you will remember his favorite joke: “Of all the things I miss in life, I miss my mind the most!” Bob never let his challenge stop him; he was active and funny until the end.
Robert Vernon Blair was born on March 22, 1938, to Benjamin and Mabel (Jerde) Blair in Burnett County, Wisconsin. In 1956, he graduated from Belle Fourche High School in South Dakota. Then, on December 29, 1957, he married Bonnie Jean Cachan, and together they raised their four children, Laura, Bob, Jr., Jeane, and Tim. He wore many hats during his life, but he mainly worked as a manufacturing engineer. He was proceeded in death by Bonnie Jean.
Later in life, he met a co-worker, Charlotte, at Hugh M Woods. Charlotte was by his side for thirty-one years, and he enjoyed spending time with her daughters, Shanon, Cinda, Lynette, and their families.
Bob lived life to the fullest. He loved to travel; he ran the Colfax Marathon at age 70, and hiked Pikes Peak at age 73. He laughed often; never ran out of jokes to tell and could fix just about anything. Though he is sorely missed, he will always be remembered for the incredible life he lived.
Services will be held at Amazing Grace Church, 3325 Federal Blvd., on May 15th. There will be a visitation at the church at 10:00 followed by a service at 11:00 and light lunch at 12:00. In Lieu of flowers, the family would like donations for the Colorado Alzheimer’s Association
