

Rodney was born to harold F. and Edna F. Allen of Saint Louis, Missouri on October 22, 1948 along with his twin brother Ronald Lee Allen. Rod's family moved to Denver, Colorado in 1950 where he lived his life of 76 years.
Rod graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Denver, Colorado in 1966 where he was a proud Spartan on the TJ football team. Rod joined the United States Marines in 1968 during the Vietnam War and was a very proud and brave Marine serving his beloved country until 1974. Shortly after his honorable discharge from the Marines in 1974 Rod joined the United States Postal Service where he honorably served for over 43 years before his retirement. In 1983 Rodney met and married the love of his life, coby VanDomberg. This union resulted in the birth of the first of their three sons, Dax Rodney Allen on May 27, 1984. Rod and Coby's second son Christoffer Harold Allen was born to them on November 12, 1985, and their third son Javan Paul Allen was born on March 23, 1987.
Rod was an avid fly fisherman and loved the beautiful Colorado mountains where he spent much of his time with his family, friends and his beloved dogs. he loved woodworking where he made many beautiful things from his surrounding family here in Colorado. Rod loved action movies, target shooting, and country and Irish music. Rod also loved cooking resulting in the development of "Lord of The Wings Lipp Dancer" hot sauce, sold in many stores for years. Rod had a very full life and will be sorely missed by all his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Coby, his three sons, Dax, Christoffer (wife Gina and four daughters), and son Javan; his brother Dennis Allen; sister-in-law Linda Allen, niece Aubrey Allen and nephew Kiel Allen. Rod was preceded in death by and now rejoins his father Harold F. Allen and mother Edna F. Allen, sister Patricia Ann Allen, twin brother Ronald Lee Allen, brother Keith Wesley Allen, and many other beloved family members and friends. A visitation for Rodney will be held Friday, July 11, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary & Cemetery, 6601 South Colorado Blvd, Centennial, CO 80121. A funeral service will occur Friday, July 11, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 6601 South Colorado Blvd, Centennial, CO 80121. A committal service will occur Friday, July 11, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM, 6601 South Colorado Blvd, Centennial, CO 80121. A reception will occur Friday, July 11, 2025 from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM, 6601 South Colorado Blvd, Centennial, CO 80121.
