Rodney James Tabberer, known to everyone as Rod, passed away on June 14, 2026, in Lone Tree, Colorado, at the age of 63. Born on December 8, 1962, in Denver, Colorado, Rod was a proud Colorado native through and through.
Rod graduated from Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado, and went on to build an impressive career as President of Provident Construction. But anyone who knew him would tell you his greatest accomplishments had nothing to do with business. The births of his two daughters, Spencer Lauren in 1997 and Peyton Laine in 1999, were the defining joys of his life. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a loyal brother who brought warmth and humor to every room he walked into.
Rod had a genuine care and concern for everyone who crossed his path. His generosity, loyalty, and nurturing nature made people feel like family. He supported multiple charities, volunteered at a local food bank, and quietly made his community a better place. When he wasn't giving back, you could find him cheering on his beloved Denver Broncos as a proud season ticket holder, traveling the world with family and friends, or soaking up the Arizona sun. And if you ever asked him to do something, his favorite response was always, "in a minute."
Rod is survived by his wife, Jill Tabberer; his daughters, Spencer Lauren Marr and Peyton Laine Tabberer; and his brother, Gregory Scott Tabberer and several nieces, nephews and sister in law Patty Bernhard. Rod was preceded in death by Rodney Lloyd and Julia Durre Tabberer.
Services will be held at Plum Creek Church, 960 S Interstate 25, Castle Rock, Colorado, on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. A viewing will take place from 9:30am to 10:15 a.m.prior to the service. There will be no graveside services.
The souls of the just are indeed in the hand of God, and no torment shall touch them. Rest easy, Rod. We'll see you in a minute.
