Rose Mary attended Elementary through High School in Whitewater, Kansas graduating in 1954. She subsequently attended Bethel College in North Newton later transferring to Kansas State Teacher’s College (KSTC) in Emporia to pursue a career in Education. Her studies were interrupted by the premature death of her mother who died in a car accident. As a result, Rose taught school on a certificate in a nearby community until she could return to KSTC to complete and graduate from her degree program.
Rose met and married Curtis who was also a student at KSTC. She gave birth to her first son, Steve, while she was a senior. Upon graduation, she and her new small family moved in 1961 to San Francisco, CA. The family moved quite often over the years to many places such as Oregon, Washington, Montana and Idaho to finally settle in Colorado where she raised her three children.
Rose Mary is survived by her husband, Curtis, of 53 years, her sister, Pat of Lawrence, her two sons and daughter: Steve, Karen and Bill of Denver and Colorado Springs, Colorado.
