Sally was born in Fort Morgan, Colorado, to parents Howard and Rosetta Williamson. She graduated from Westminster High School in 1952. She was an avid outdoors woman and enthusiastic skier. Vail was her favorite destination starting in 1965. On April 6, 1968, Sally was honored to become Vail’s 1,000,000th skier; a major event in Vail at the time. She met David Warren at Vail. David and Sally were married on September 28, 1968. David and Sally had 2 boys: James Grant, 1971; Andrew David, 1974. The family lived in Evergreen from 1968 to 1976, Greenwood Village from 1976 to 1998, and Castle Pines, 1998 to present.
Sally was very involved in Cherry Creek schools with both boys, becoming president of the CCHS Parent Senate in 1990-1991. The family was very active in the Boy Scouts of America with both boys obtaining the rank of Eagle Scout. Sally was active in the Sundance Hills Sailfish swim team in Greenwood Village. She was well known as an artist, preferring pastels. Many pieces of Sally’s art have been displayed and published. With her family, Sally has been involved with the Denver Museum of Nature and Science for decades.
Travel was especially important to Sally, always with her family or family members. Dozens of Ports of Call trips were enjoyable adventures. The highlight of many of Sally’s trips was collecting butterflies with son Andrew who is a Lepidopterist. Butterfly collecting became an important activity for Sally in The Solomon Islands, Kenya, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil, many places in Mexico, throughout the western USA, and her favorite places in Colorado.
Her bright smile will be missed by all who knew her.
