Our sweet daughter, sister, cousin, grandchild, niece, and friend Sarah Jessica Miller, 24, became an angel in heaven on Monday, May 30, 2016, in Granby, Colorado. Sarah was born in Florida but lived most of her life in Colorado. Sarah lived life to the fullest enjoying all outdoor activities including horseback riding, hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, whitewater rafting, dirt bike riding, and snowboarding. Sarah graduated from Arapahoe High School in Littleton, Colorado and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Colorado State University in December 2014. Upon graduation, she accepted a full-time position as the Assistant Director of the Children’s program and in early 2016 was promoted to Food and Beverage Manager at the renowned C Lazy U Guest Ranch and Resort in Granby, Colorado. Sarah had an infectious smile and laugh and was at home anywhere in the outdoors. Sarah was rarely seen without her steadfast companion “Little Lucy”, her Chihuahua, which frequently accompanied her on many adventures. Sarah was well known for her hashtags such as #exploretheunexplored, #getoutside, and #livesimply. She will be missed immensely by all of her friends and family, and those lucky enough to cross her path in life. Sarah was preceded in death by uncles, Frank Bernard, Gery King, and Gary Miller; her grandfather Richard Miller. Sarah is survived by her father Stephen W. Miller, mother and stepfather Sandra M. and Paul Bernard; sister Laura Miller and brothers Stephen G. Miller and Sean Bernard; grandparents Robert and Marietta King, and Rod and Joan Alexander; aunt and uncles Rhonda and Pati Tanuvasa, Carol and Ken Chin, Debra and John Beauregard, Merrill and Preston Speers, Elaina Altunbas, Mary and Richard Miller, and Barb Bernard; and many cousins including Taylor and Connor Schlaff, Jeff and Jason King, Jessica and Jason Tanuvasa, Jeremiah Bear, Amanda and Audrey Chin, TJ Sommer, Nicholas and Ashley Beauregard, Erin and Garrett Ortino, and Suheyla Altunbas.
Sarah's funeral service will be held Sunday, June 5th, at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary and Cemetery (6601 S. Colorado Blvd. Centennial, CO 80121). We will be holding a public viewing for anyone who wishes to visit Sarah and say their goodbyes from 1-3PM. The funeral service will begin at 3PM, and is open to all friends and family.
There will also be a memorial service held at the C Lazy U Ranch in Granby, Colorado on Monday, June 6 at 5pm. The address for the C Lazy U Ranch is 3640 State Highway 125, Granby, CO 80446.
