The family of Sharon Carold Horner of Littleton, Colorado is saddened to announce her passing at the age of 93 years.
Sharon was born in Arkansas City, Kansas to parents Edward and Bertha Carold Phillips.
Sharon was an only child who spent her childhood in Kansas and Oklahoma. After college, Sharon moved to Denver and met her husband, Harley (“Jack”) Horner at an ice cream social at Trinity United Methodist Church in Denver. Sharon and Jack married in 1963 and had three daughters: Janele Zarate, Cindy Schulz and Deanne Stodden. Sharon worked most of her career for Littleton Public Schools as a secretary at Littleton High School.
Sharon has four grandsons who she loved with all her heart: Jeff Schulz, Kyle Schulz, Trent Stodden and Kellan Stodden. Of all the things Sharon loved, being a mother and a grandmother were her most precious gifts. Sharon doted on all those around her including her daughters, grandsons and two sons-in-law, Mark Zarate and Chad Stodden.
Sharon will be lovingly remembered for showering all those around her with gifts and considerate gestures whenever she could. Her kind heart touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Harley.
A celebration of life will be held at Olinger Chapel Hill, 6601 S. Colorado Boulevard, Centennial, CO 80121 on Friday July 24, 2026 at 1:30 pm. A reception will follow services from 3:00pm to 5:00 pm. All who knew Sharon are welcome to attend and celebrate her life.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Sharon's name to Disabled American Veterans as Sharon supported veterans and the military, or to the World Wildlife Fund as Sharon loved animals.
