Shirley was born in Coffeyville, Kansas on October 25th 1935 to Stella Adelna and Jessie Dewey Johnson. She was one of seven children: Billy Fred, Bud (Carl), Alene, Jack and the twins Earl and Pearl.
Momma was raised on a farm in various places in Kansas and Oklahoma.
Shirley enjoyed playing basketball at Lenapah High School where she graduated. Later she enjoyed bowling.
She married Art Coppock in November of 1954. Mom worked for Bell Telephone at the switchboard.
They had 2 children, Sherry and Victor.
They moved to Englewood Colorado in 1960 where they lived at Cherokee and Hampton Ave for a year. Then to Columbine Hills on Jay Drive for 4 years. During this time Momma was a homemaker. She enjoyed playing bridge with the neighbors and was 1 of 7 leaders in a girl scout troop of 50 girls.
In 1964 they moved to Chula Vista California where they lived for eleven months then back to Colorado to stay.
Mom took jobs operating a teletype, shagging cars and finally went to Arapahoe community college in 1977 where she received an AA for secretarial degree and took a job at Lockheed Martin where she retired in 1999.
She enjoyed her 3 grandsons, Benjamin Perkins , Matthew Perkins and Michael Coppock. Latter with great grandsons Hunter and Jamison Perkins.
Momma was always sassy, spunky and full of vinegar.
