Signe Marie Nielsen

Marie was given life by her creator and was born March 2, 1934, to Niels and Julia Molgaard in Askov, Minnesota.

Marie grew up on the family farm with her 3 brothers and 2 sisters. She graduated from high school in 1952, and then worked for a few years in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Several years later she moved to Colorado. Marie met Arlo on a blind date, and they were married on September 26, 1958. They enjoyed 60 loving years together.

Marie was a loving mother to her 3 children. Marie was involved in many of the kids’ activities when they were young. She was a Sunday School teacher, Girl Scout Troup Leader, and active in the school PTA. Marie enjoyed sewing, crafting, gardening, and spending time with family.

Marie’s faith was strong and shown in all aspects of her life. She loved serving her Lord and attending services at Immanuel Lutheran Church. She often made banners for the church, served on Women’s Guild, as well as other committees.

On February 9, 2022, God blessed Marie with a holy death and took Marie home to rest in the arms of Jesus to await the resurrection of the dead. Marie was 87 years old.

Marie is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arlo. Marie is survived by her son Mark Nielsen and daughter-in-law Donna Nielsen; son Greg Nielsen and dog Friday; daughter Laurie Brendlinger, son-in-law Greg Brendlinger, and granddaughter Jessica Brendlinger.

The Lord gives and the Lord take away; blessed be the name of the Lord. We give thanks to God the Father through Jesus Christ, our Lord, for our sister Marie.
