Stanley Stephen Munyon was born March 21, 1951, in Tribune, Kansas. His parents were Stanley Louis Munyon and Esther Rebecca (Halfman) Munyon. The family moved frequently during Stephen’s childhood. In Kansas, the family lived in Tribune, Planeview, and Derby. In Colorado, the family lived in Monument, Aurora, Akron, Lamar, and Englewood. While Stephen was in the public school system, he made the honor roll on a regular basis.
Stephen married Pamela Kathleen Schakel, in Englewood, Colorado, in September 1970. When Stephen passed on September 8, 2022, he and Pamela had been married a few days short of 52 years. Stephen and Pamela lived in Englewood for a few years, and then the rest of his life he and Pamela lived in Littleton.
For over 30 years, Stephen worked as an inventory controller for the C.A. Norgren company, a pneumatics manufacturing company located in Littleton, Colorado.
His primary hobby was model railroading. He subscribed to railroad magazines, and even started a HO scale layout in his house, for a time working with his two brothers. His railroad line was Burlington Northern. His other area of interest was cats. His entire adult life he always had cats sharing his life.
Steve was a practicing Christian all his life, primarily attending church at Englewood Assembly and then the Family Worship Center in Littleton. When he was younger, he played the coronet in church bands, and as an adult he sang in choirs and enjoyed listening to Gospel music.
Stephen is survived by his wife Pamela, his mother Esther, his two brothers, Timothy and James, and a host of nieces and nephews.
