Born on December 26, 1960, in Westland, Michigan, Steven was the son of Patricia Miller who preceded him in death. Steven is survived by his devoted wife of 34 years, Kathryn Harper; his child, Megan Sowers; stepdaughter, Kelli White; three grandsons, Lukas Sowers, Caleb Burris, Conner Burris; two sisters, Kim Bernas and Joy Harper; and one brother Richard Harper. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He attended John Glenn High school where he played tuba in the marching band. He left high school early to bravely serve his country in the Army where he became a valued member of the Military Police. After leaving the military He had one daughter, Megan, and faithfully worked for United Airlines for over 30 years.
A memorial service will be held at Olinger Chapel Hill on October 10, 2026, at 2PM. Flowers will be accepted at Olinger, however, donation to the Gary Sinise Foundation in Steven’s name would be more than appreciated.
Steven will always be remembered by family and friends for his love for life, travel, and laughter. His compassion for friends, generosity towards others, love for animals, and devotion to his wife will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
