My heart is broken for you and the boys, when I found out that Stevie passed away I was always thinking about you and the boys ever since that day and I really hope you are all doing well and know that I'm still here for you guys if you need to talk or anything.

This is not a memory, instead it's a tribute. On the day you left is I was hounded with the need to write this.


I'd always wondered what heaven would look like. I knew I was there when I looked up and saw a kind man in jeans and a tough mechanic shirt. The nametag said God, so I walked up to him. He gestured for me to join him on the bench and I sat next to him. Behind him was a mechanic's dream, every car I’d dreamed of working on, every tool I would ever need, and an endless supply of parts.
“I guess you know where you are. I'm sure it took you by surprise when you woke up here,” God said as his placed his arm around my shoulders.
“Yeah I'm a little surprised. Not sure I'm ready yet, too be honest,” I replied softly.
“Why not?”
“I didn't get to hug my mom one last time. I won't get to teach my kids how to use any of these tools,” I said pointing behind me.
“Don't worry, once you’re here you can always go back watch over all your loved ones. You can go see your mom and hold your babies whenever you want,” God said, his voice full of emotion.
“I already miss them. I hope they know I love them,” I got out between tears.
“It's hard to not to be there where they can see you. Just know you can always be there when you want and when they need. There's a poem about going to the next room and it's true. Your love for them rings in their hearts.”
“I think I'll go check on them before I come work on cars with you,” I said.
“Take your time, you know the way here and I'll be waiting.”

We shared so many good times and experiences together. I am so grateful to have been able to spend almost half of my life with my best friend. Words cannot describe the connection we had. Stevie will always have a big place in my heart and I will always keep him alive through the memories. Forever in our thoughts and endless love, we shall never forget until the very end. 

Steve was a great classmate and was an even greater man. His friends, family, and former classmates are going to miss him. He will forever be in our hearts and minds, and now, the good Lord just got one heck of an angel. 

Now who's going to be the first asleep when we are get off the mountain! Scout hard and hunt hard brother tell I see you again. 

Stevie was like a brother to me. Anytime anyone needed him he would be there in a heart beat. I will miss you untill I see you on the other side.

I never got to meet him in person but he and I played a game online together he was like a brother to me I'm gonna miss the funny remarks he would post on there to me he was a good friend and he will be missed by everyone

Steven was a great man. My prayers and heart are with his family.


My memories of you  go way back. You were the ring bearer at my wedding 

We love you so much and will miss our times with you. 

Steven was an amazing person and I'll never forget how you helped me in life my friend

He will always be a hard worker and amazing family member to all of us and and amazing father to his kids who mean the world to him
