With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Manuela de Jesus “Susie” Franco Ramirez, who passed away on June 19, 2026, at the age of 82.

Susie was born on March 24, 1944, in San Antonio, Texas. She lived a life filled with love, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family. Those who knew Susie knew her as a loving, kind, and compassionate woman who was also wonderfully stubborn at times—especially when it came to using her cane. She was strong, determined, and a true fighter who faced life’s challenges with courage and resilience.

Susie retired from Safeway after many years of dedicated service. In her retirement, she found joy in the simple things she loved most: shopping, gardening, watching Western classics, and enjoying a good meal. However, nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with her family.

Family was the center of Susie’s world. She cherished every holiday spent together and created lasting memories through treasured traditions, especially making tamales each Christmas. Her home was always filled with love, laughter, and the warmth that only she could provide.

Susie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gilbert Ramirez, and her son, Joe Ramirez.

She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory, including her children: Roxan Rose, Sofia Orndoff, Marilyn Ramirez, Wayne Ramirez, Susie Zamora, Gilbert Ramirez, Tony Ramirez, and Joe Ramirez; as well as 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, along with many extended family members and dear friends whose lives she touched.

Susie will be laid to rest at Olinger Funeral, Cremation & Cemetery – Chapel Hill, where she will be reunited with her beloved husband, Gilbert, and her son, Joe. A celebration of life reception will follow the funeral service at 3830 Lipan Street, Denver, Colorado 80211. Family and friends are welcome to join in remembering and celebrating the beautiful life Susie lived.

Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that Susie’s love, strength, traditions, and beautiful spirit will live on through the family she loved so dearly.

Visitation will be held at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary, Mountain View Room, 6601 South Colorado Blvd, Centennial, Colorado 80121, on July 2, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by the Funeral Service at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary, Mountain View Room, 6601 South Colorado Blvd, Centennial, Colorado 80121, on July 2, 2026, at 11:00 am.

A Committal Service will take place at Olinger Chapel Hill Cemetery, 6601 South Colorado Blvd, Centennial, Colorado 80121, on July 2, 2026, at 12:00 pm.
