Victor Arend Hopp passed into Glory on February 27, 2022 at the age of 86. Vic was born in Holland, Michigan February 19, 1936 to Arend and Gertrude Hopp. He was the only son, the fifth of six children. Vic was raised in a home where Jesus Christ was honored. His family moved to Denver when he was a young child.
Vic met the love of his life in high school and they were married on July 26, 1956. They have been married for 65 years. Vic and Orie loved spending time in the mountains with their kids, jeeping, zooming around in a dune buggy, and camping.
You didn’t have to know Vic very long before you heard about his love for Jesus Christ and the victory and freedom you could experience as His follower. Vic’s love of serving the Lord and reaching others for Christ was merged with his ministry in Calvin Cadets for many years. He felt called to teach young boys to know the Lord and to live for Jesus. Vic felt the Lord desired him to be a servant for Him and invest his life in an eternal valuable service, so he felt led to bless and serve others by working for a Christian ranch for troubled boys for a couple years.
Vic’s incredible work ethic began at an early age, first working as a newspaper boy, then running the milk up to homes from the dairy truck, and working at the Piggly, Wiggly grocery store. His first career began out of his love for cars when he began working at Anema’s Auto Body. Later in 1967 He started Hopp’s Auto Body. Victorie Construction was another passion Vic developed, he built and remodeled homes. He always enjoyed helping his family and customers have a beautiful and comfortable home and never quit until it was finished perfectly. After retirement Vic loved serving the elderly and drove a van taking them to appointments and trips.
Victor Hopp was a man who passionately lived out the belief that whatever he did, should be done to give glory to God, whether it be his work, his study and worship time, spending time with his family, or enjoying creation.
Vic is survived by his wife of 65 years, Oriana of Denver, Son Rick Hopp,(Becky) of Parker, daughters Vicki (Greg) of Eaton, and Valorie (Francis) of Bonner’s Ferry, Idaho. He is fondly remembered by 11, grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
