Wayne Thomas Wood

Wayne Thomas Wood, aged 62, passed away on August 13, 2026. He found peace in his final moments while holding his daughter’s hand. Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we find comfort in knowing that he is no longer suffering.

Wayne was born and raised in Colorado and spent his final days in his Littleton home, surrounded by the people who loved him most. He was a hardworking man who took great pride in owning his own business. It was not always easy, but Wayne never let the challenges of life take away from what mattered most to him- his family.

Above all else, Wayne was a family man. He treasured the time he spent with them and was always looking for a new adventure to share. He especially loved making his grandson smile and would do just about anything to see that big smile on his face.

For Wayne, some of life’s greatest moments were the simple ones: the days spent together, the laughs shared, the little adventures, and the memories made with the people he loved. Those are the moments his family will hold onto most dearly.

If you knew Wayne, you know that humor was one of the ways he showed his love. Wayne had a natural ability to make people laugh. He loved a good joke, playful teasing, and making people smile. You always knew when he was up to no good, he had this glimmer in his eye and a smirk that will always be embedded in memory. Even in his final days he managed to make jokes and bring joy in the worst of times. He was truly a man to admire.

He was a private man who did not always say what was on his heart, but those close to him never had to question whether he cared. He loved by showing up, by making you laugh, by sharing his time, and simply by being Wayne. Beneath his humor was one of the kindest, gentlest, and most genuine hearts you could find.

Wayne was not a particularly religious man, but he believed in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. While our hearts are broken by losing him, we find comfort in knowing that Wayne is no longer suffering and is now with Jesus. We know he has found peace and has been welcomed home into the loving arms of our Lord. Although we wish more than anything that he could still be here with us, we hold onto the promise that this is not goodbye forever, but simply goodbye for now.

Wayne is survived by his beloved wife, Tracey Wood; his daughter, Jennifer Myers; his son-in-law, Luke Myers; his grandson, Carter Wayne Myers; his mother, Sharill Wood; and his brother, Jim Wood. He was so many things to so many people, and we are blessed to have had him in our lives.

To those who knew and loved Wayne, his absence will be felt in a thousand little ways. We will miss hearing his voice, his laughter, his adventures, and the way he could make us smile. We will miss the stories we haven’t heard yet, the laughs we haven’t yet shared, and the memories we thought we still had time to make. We will miss having him here for the moments still waiting to happen.

But we will never run out of the memories we already have.

We will carry Wayne with us in everything we do. We will tell his stories. We will share his jokes. We will remember the adventures. His greatest legacy is not what he built or what he accomplished, but the love, laughter, and memories he leaves behind in the hearts of those who were blessed to call him theirs.

Until we meet again, Dad, may you rest peacefully in the arms of Jesus. We love you. We miss you. We will carry you with us until the day we see you again.

It was Wayne’s wish not to have a traditional memorial service. Instead, his family will honor him with a small, private goodbye.
