Yolanda Lenthall

Yolanda Lenthall, 95, of Denver, Colorado passed away peacefully on October 18, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband, retired Denver Police Officer Osborne "Les" Lenthall. Funeral service to be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, October 22, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 6853 S Prince St, Littleton, Colorado 80120, with visitation to be held from 9:30-10:30 am, and burial to follow at 1:00 pm at Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Yolanda is survived by her children, Irene (Ron) Holt, Michael (Patricia) Lenthall, Mark (Sandy) Lenthall, Evelyn (Tim) Nygren; eight grandchildren, Kim (Bill) Story, Eddie (Carmen) Holt, Paul (Lisa) Lenthall, Ellis Lenthall, Sara (Bryan) Greene, Jessica (Matt) Goodstein, Sam (Marissa) Lenthall, and Gina Nygren; five great-grandchildren, Alexa (Nick) Robinson, Hunter Holt, Reagan Lenthall, Makenzie Lenthall, and Elizabeth Greene; 2 great-great-grandchildren, James Robinson and baby Robinson, and other loving family and friends.

Yolanda was born in Denver, Colorado to Italian immigrant parents. She cherished her time with her close knit group of eight siblings (all of whom have preceded her in death). Yolanda worked a variety of jobs to help support her family. Her work ethic was second to none.

Yolanda and her husband Les met on a street car. They enjoyed 28 years of marriage and had four children together prior to his passing in 1974. Yolanda raised the two youngest children on her own while working to continue to support her family. Yolanda enjoyed visits and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her secret spaghetti sauce recipe and homemade meatballs were legendary and served at every holiday. The recipes have been passed down to her children and grandchildren and will be continued to be made to keep her legacy of great Italian cooking strong. She was blessed throughout her life with loving friends and neighbors and had an active social life. Heaven is lucky to have gained such a caring, feisty, Italian angel who we are all blessed to have watching over us.
