

Christine Chappel Simeone passed peacefully on October 15, 2025, at the age of 82. Chris lived a long and fulfilling life and will be remembered best for her wit, generous soul, playful nature, and unwavering strength, resilience, and perseverance.
She is survived by her life partner, William Fahey of Old Saybrook, CT; her brother, R. Garth Seidel and his wife Ginny of Blue Bell, PA; her three children, Matthew John Simeone and wife Annemarie of Bluffton, SC, Mark Andrew Simeone and wife Rosemarie of Beverly, MA, and Honor Christine Simeone of Stamford, CT; and six beloved grandchildren; Alessandra, Luke, Lucia, Brianjohnson, Thomas, and Harrison whom she adored deeply.
After her first and most cherished career as a Mom, Chris returned to the work in the mid-1970s as the Children’s Librarian at the Skowhegan Free Public Library in Skowhegan, ME. After relocating to Connecticut, she went back to college while working full-time and raising three children, earning her MS in Social Work from the University of Connecticut. She completed her professional career as a Psychiatric Social Worker at Middlesex Memorial Hospital in Middletown, CT.
Chris, known affectionately as Chrissie, Mom and Nana found great joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved gardening, boating, volunteering at the soup kitchen, attending professional conferences, and walking the beach with her partner Bill and their faithful dog Wilson. She also loved to go on trips and traveled throughout her life with her dear friends and family. She especially cherished Ocean City, NJ, a beloved vacation spot since childhood, where countless family memories were made.
Above all, she treasured being a Nana. Her grandchildren were the light of her life.
