Claire O. Rettick, age 86 of Westbrook passed away peacefully on Friday morning August 14, 2026 at her home with her beloved husband Bob by her side. She was born in Brooklyn, New York the daughter of Charles and Madelyn Ossenfort on April 24, 1940. Claire and Bob enjoyed 67 years of marriage.
Claire had been a resident of Westbrook since 1965. She was a bookkeeper at Connecticut Water Company and also worked at Turbo Products in Centerbrook and last worked at Essex Veterinary Clinic as a receptionist. She proudly served so many as a Notary.
Claire will be remembered as having a great love of Sunflowers and being an amazing woman who was so beautiful and loving. She will be greatly missed by her Husband Robert and her devoted caregiver and friend, Maria Girardi who cared for Claire for over a year. She also will be greatly missed by her devoted companion Ashley, her German Shorthaired Pointer.
Visitation and a Remembrance Service will be held at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street in Centerbrook on Saturday, August 22, 2026 from 10:00am to 11:00am. The Remembrance Service will take place at 10:30AM.
