Edward M. Newman, age 88, of Westbrook passed away on Wednesday evening, November 1, 2023 at the Gladeview Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Old Saybrook. He was the beloved husband of Dolores Antoinnette Newman who predeceased him on February 6, 2014. Ed was born in New London on January 24, 1935 the son of the late Edward M. Newman, Jr. and Fannie (Jones) Newman. He was a former maintenance supervisor at the Westbrook YMCA for over 20 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served from 1957 to 1959. Ed was a member of the Westbrook Lodge of Elks # 1784. He leaves behind no survivors. A graveside service will be held at the Riverside Cemetery on Sheffield Street in Old Saybrook on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at 10:00 am.
