Elaine Buckley

Elaine Buckley, 78, passed away in Old Saybrook, CT, at Gladeview Rehabilitation. Elaine spent most of her life in Bridgeport and Stratford, CT. She was the daughter of the late Raymond Buckley and Julia Feltovic Buckley of Bridgeport, CT. Elaine was a caring person with a strong personality and strong opinions, and she was never afraid to let those opinions be known. She was always up for a good time and enjoyed being around people, laughter, and good conversation. Elaine devoted much of her professional life to education. She was a teacher at Bassick High School in Bridgeport, CT, and later served as an assistant principal at Bassick High School and Brien McMahon High School in Norwalk. Her hobbies and interests included bowling, tennis, golf, any time near the ocean and travel. After retiring, she especially enjoyed spending many winters in Florida and her summer vacations in Old Saybrook, CT.

She is survived by her brothers, Raymond Buckley (Barbara) of East Hartford, CT, Edgartown, MA, and Kenneth (Arlene) Westbrook , CT; her nephews, Brian Buckley (Diana) Davis, California, Devin Buckley (Dawn) of Berlin, CT, and Michael Buckley (Mattie) of Brooklyn, NY; her great-nephews, Logan and Cole of Berlin, CT; and her great-nieces, Leila of California and Catherine of Brooklyn, NY.

Funeral arrangements will be private. A Celebration of Elaine's life will be held at a later date.

Elaine will be remembered for her spirit, honesty, and love of life, and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
