Skip came into our lives when she and my father-in-law, Al (now 91 years old), became friends at Chester Village West.  She made Al grin with her upbeat attitude;  girlish giggle; and infectious, ever-present smile. They became buddies, and Al's life became happy.  She was a bright ray of sunshine for all of us,  and every time she walked in our kitchen door with Al, we knew we were in for a treat.  We greatly enjoyed hearing her reminisce of life on the farm in Delaware, and she and Al would spar about which state had the best tomatoes - his New Jersey or her Delaware.

We loved her.  When it became clear that Skip needed to move to Assisted Living and away from Chester Village West due to declining mental function, it was very sad for all of us.  Spring sort of turned to Winter again for Al.

She will always be a wonderful role model to us as to how to grow old with dignity and grace.  You could see God's presence in the joy she exuded. You could see Him in her sweet face.

Well done, Skip!  We miss you, but Heaven has a new sweet Angel.  




Randy, Ann, Chris, your Mom lives in my memory as one of the kindest people I've ever met. When I was kind of a lost soul in the area in the 70s, she took me under her wing (and fed me!). She didn't know me except as a friend of Randy's, and that was enough for her. I'm so very sorry for the hole in your lives that she has left. I'm so very grateful I got the chance to know her, even a little.

My deepest condolences to the family for their loss. May the many good memories you have of Ella bring you comfort. The God of all comfort sees the tears brought on by the death of our loved ones Psalms 56:8. He yearns to bring back those sleeping in death Job 14:14,15 to a time when sickness,suffering and death will be no more. Revelation 21:4.

Please accept my condolences for the passing of Jane. There is hope though, as the Almighty has arranged for the resurrection in the future. He promises, "... There is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous." (Acts 24:15)

I hope you find these few words comforting and provide motivation to prepare for the new world of God's making. (John 17:3)

The Fresh Image, formerly Beauty Barn, would like to express our sincere sympathy to Skip's family. For many years Skip was a client and a friend. We enjoyed her zest for life and her warm smile. We remember Skip as warm, funny, kind and sincere. She shared many interesting stories with us of her past.   Randy, you were always so good to your Mom. Always making sure she was able to get her hair cut on your many visits here.   Skip always cared how she looked and it showed.  She always told us what a GREAT family she had and was very proud of that. She will be missed by many.  We will remember Skip fondly and with a smile.

When Art and I first moved to CVW, Skip welcomed us with her winsome smile and cheerful countenance. She and Bob served us breakfast (her delicious popovers) in her home. Skip loved the natural landscape and walked the pond in the warm months, and built many a snowman in the winter. We, as past ministers wives, were regular church goers, and often had good discussions about the sermons in the car afterward. Death has a way of tearing us apart from those we love. She was a loyal and trusting friend. I miss her a lot. Jean Bradley
